In an interesting development in the Kulbushan Jadhav case, Pakistan Foreign Office has released another propaganda video of the Pakistani prisoner, in which he has claimed that he is still a commissioned officer of the Indian navy.
“I have to say something very important here, for the Indian public , Indian government and the Indian Navy, that my commission is not gone. I am a commissioned officer in the Indian Navy,” Jadhav stressed.
In the latest video message sent out to Indian government and the Indian public, Jadhav has reasserted the fact that he is safe and well taken care of by the Pakistani authorities and they have not touched or harmed him.
Thanking Pakistan for the humanitarian gesture of letting his mother and wife meet him in Islamabad, he said that his mother was really happy to see him healthy.
However, Jadhav on the contrary said that he has been worried ever since he has met his family.
“I saw fear in my mother’s eyes, the Indian diplomat who was accompanying my family, was yelling at them as soon as the meeting finished. This meeting was a positive gesture by the Pakistani government,” Jadhav said in the video.
The authenticity of Jadhav’s video is yet to be confirmed, yet the video has started the debate once again on the current status of Indo-Pak relationship.
The big question that arises here is that how could Jadhav know that the Indian Diplomat yelled at his mother (if he did) as he was not present in the same room with Jadhav family.
The MEA(Ministry Of External Affairs) in an official statement on the video has said
“This does not come as a surprise. Pakistan is simply continuing its practice of putting out coerced statements on video.”
“It is time for Pakistan to realize such propagandistic exercises simply carry no meaning.”
The Pakistani High Commission in Delhi remained unavailable for a comment.
Kulbushan Jadhav met with his wife and mother in Islamabad on 25th December as a humanitarian gesture by the Pakistani government in a meeting that lasted about 40 minutes.
The meeting caused a huge spark and debate in India, as the Indian authorities claimed that Pakistani Authorities did not adhere to the conditions of the meetings between Jadhav and his family.
EAM(External Affairs Minister) Sushma Swaraj condemned Pakistan’s behavior in the parliament labelling it as an instrument of furthering Pakistan’s propaganda.
Swaraj in her statement said that the meeting lacked compassion and humanitarian grounds were completely missing from it.
