OpenAI In Talks For Massive Funding Round, Eyeing Over $100 Bn Valuation: Report

ChatGPT creator OpenAI is reportedly in advanced discussions to secure billions of dollars in a new funding round. This funding round could elevate the company’s valuation to over USD 100 billion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Venture capital firm Thrive Capital is expected to spearhead this significant funding effort, with plans to invest approximately USD 1 billion. Additionally, Microsoft, a long-time supporter of OpenAI, is expected to contribute to the round. 

This funding round is set to be OpenAI’s largest external capital infusion since January 2023, when Microsoft invested nearly USD 10 billion.
