NTPC, India's largest power utility, has recently invited bids for 1.5 GW of hydel, wind, and solar power projects from various regions across the country.
This move signifies their commitment to diversifying the energy mix and accelerating the nation's transition to cleaner and sustainable sources of power.
As these renewable projects come into fruition, it is expected that they will not only reduce India's reliance on fossil fuels but also mitigate the adverse environmental impacts associated with conventional energy generation.
In essence, NTPC's strategic decision to invest in hydel, wind, and solar power projects is a significant step forward in achieving India's ambitious climate goals and ushering in a greener future for generations to come.
According to reports, the last date for submitting these bid proposals is 17 October. Bids will be submitted online and will be opened on the last day of submission only.
It may be recalled that NTPC had recently invited bids to implement a 120 MW ground mounted floating power plant in Ramagundam Power Plant in Telangana.
