British electronics manufacturer Nothing has started the NothingOS 2.5.5 system update rollout for its smartphone, offering deeper integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT within the ecosystem, including smartphones and earphones.
This development will allow users to view a new ChatGPT widget on their smartphone, giving them the ability to launch an AI chatbot in different modes from the home screen.
Additionally, with the update users can launch the chatbot using gestures on the earbuds.
The development will also add a new button on the screenshot clipboard pop-up, an option that will allow the screenshot sharing of a new conversation in ChatGPT.
Meanwhile, along with the ChatGPT integration, the phone maker is also looking to roll out support for Ultra XDR for the smartphone’s camera and new widget with OS 2.5.5, an update which will be rolled out in a graded manner and would be first implemented in Nothing Phone 2, following which Phone 1 and Phone 2a will get updated.
Furthermore, the Camera app's Photo and Portrait modes now have a dedicated HDR Switch to enable or disable HDR shooting. Additional features encompass a RAM Booster, a new Ring Mode option in Quick settings, and fresh Recorder and Battery widgets.
