Nasdaq-listed company Atlassian, renowned for its team collaboration and productivity software including Jira, Confluence, and Loom, has promoted Avani Prabhakar to Chief People Officer.
Previously serving as the head of various human resources divisions within the company, Prabhakar will now lead Atlassian’s People organisation. This role will see her managing a broad array of functions, including Human Resources, Talent Management, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, among others.
Erika Fisher, Atlassian’s Chief Administrative and Legal Officer, praised Prabhakar's track record and leadership. “In the past four years alone, Atlassian’s headcount has almost doubled, and as we continue to scale at speed, I couldn’t think of a better people leader to steer our future growth,” she said.
In a statement, Prabhakar said, “I am thrilled to step into this new role in such an exciting period of growth at Atlassian. We aspire to be an employer of choice, and a company where people are given the opportunity to do the best work of their careers. That’s no small feat, but it’s an honour to be at the helm of the teams delivering on this ambition for our 11,000+ Atlassians across the world.”
Prabhakar joined Atlassian in 2019 as Head of HR Partners for Asia Pacific and quickly took on additional leadership roles, including People M&A, and overseeing all HRBPs globally. Her experience spans more than 20 years across various industries and regions, including APAC, the Middle East and the US, which will serve her well in her new role overseeing the company’s global workforce of over 11,000 employees.
