In a major boost to its operations, KEC International, a global infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) major has secured new orders of Rs 1,079 crore in its transmission and distribution (T and D) business along with its cables businesses. The RPG group company has received orders in India as well as in the Middle East and the Americas.
In the transmission and distribution business, the company has secured a 765 kV/400 kV transmission line order from a private developer in India. The foreign orders include the 230/132 kV transmission line orders in Oman and Saudi Arabia. In the Americas, the company has managed to secure the supply of towers, hardware and poles. As far as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is concerned, the company has secured the order for the upgrade of an existing 400 kV transmission line.
As far as the cable business is concerned, it has secured orders for the supply of various types of cables in India as well as overseas. With these orders, the year-to-date (YTD) order intake of the company has reached Rs 8,700 crore, reporting a 60 per cent growth as compared to the last year.
Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KEC International stated, “We are pleased with the continuous inflow of orders, particularly in our T&D business. The prestigious order in India T&D from a private developer has enhanced our presence in the India T&D market and further diversified our clientele.”
“The significant orders across Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE have substantially expanded our International T&D order book in the Middle East. With these orders, our YTD order intake has surpassed Rs 8,700 crores, reflecting an impressive growth of ~60% compared to last year,” Kejriwal further added.
KEC International is currently executing infrastructure projects in more than 30 countries and has a footprint in over 110 countries which includes the EPC, supply of towers and cables.
