The elections to elect the 224 member Karnataka Vidhan Sabha will be held on 10th May 2023 and the results will be declared on 13th May 2023. In the last assembly elections in 2018 BJP got 104 seats but failed to get the majority on its own, the Congress getting 80 seats and JD(S) getting 37 seats.
The coalition government of Congress and JDS was formed which fell in 2019 making way for BJP rule. My prediction published on 30th March 2018 was spot on about coalition government formation in Karnataka. The current elections are also between the two major national parties Congress & BJP.
The BJP, stung by crony capitalism charges wants to retain its losing shine whereas for Congress it’ll be a battle that will decide the fate of 2024 Lok Sabha polls tie ups.
BJP is running mahadasha of debilitated Moon lying in inauspicious 6th house may bring unwanted controversies. The transit of Saturn over natal Ketu may create hurdles in its goal towards winning these crucial assembly elections.
On other hand Congress is running favorable mahadasha of Jupiter-Rahu, which may give them simple majority. Finally, the polling day chart indicates that the opposition party has slight advantage over the ruling party and may form the government with likeminded parties post election results.
