The world we live in today has constantly been evolving; be it good or bad, the change has always been there. And this is inevitable. However, out of all the changes we have seen, the existence of ChatGPT has been revolutionary. But scary at the same time. 

Why scary? 

Well, since the inception of ChatGPT, people worldwide have seen how it functions and what things it can do. It generates texts that emulate humans, surpassing what we humans try to write. On the other hand, it can answer any query you want to generate or ask the AI model. It can potentially replace humans and do things more efficiently and better. 

And that is what I would like to discuss in this article.

Reality and Fear of ChatGPT in the workplace

We all have tried how ChatGPT works, and it is quite amazing how it responds to all your queries without having to do all the research. Things have been made easier for everyone, and our manual groundwork has been cut short. 

But this has created fear among the masses, especially in the growing content marketing sector. There is a cloud of uncertainty over the writers that their jobs are at risk since ChatGPT is mostly focused on generating content and resolving queries. And that is one of the primary responsibilities of content writers worldwide. 

You ask a query in Google, and the information that you get is unending. Human writers write different articles with tons of information that can be overwhelming. 

However, ChatGPT summarises the content and gives you the exact desired result. And this has raised concerns at an alarming rate. 

Moreover, Google has also shared its concern since its main revenue model, the "Google Search" we all love, might have a negative impact. People will mostly search their questions in ChatGPT and get the exact answer which might drop the user count of Google Search soon. 

These things are still being speculated and are not sure proof, but they can change in a way we might not want them to.  

Limitations of AI Chatbot/ChatGPT

Despite the advancements in high-end technology that we have seen, it has limitations. And these limitations are what create a fine balance between humans and machines. Without the limitations, humans would have been at a greater disadvantage in the present era. And somehow, that is a good thing. 

But what are the limitations here? 

Here are a few pointers you can resonate with to give you a fair idea. 

●They are not credible and lack the authenticity that humans have. 

●Although accurate with their query-resolving capabilities, they still lack the compassion and sentiment that humans do. 

●With constant use, it gives you mundane texts and becomes repetitive. 

●Chances are high that, at times, it gives you incorrect information, which can negatively impact your work. 

●Has limited knowledge and lacks ethical considerations like humans. 

●It can be used for a potential malware attack. 

●Cannot generate new ideas like humans. For something like that to happen, it will require rigorous development and the use of resources, which comes with a cost. To cover those costs, it may not be free to use in the near future as it is now. There will be a subscription fee that the masses might not be able to afford. 

Will ChatGPT or similar AI tools take over human jobs?

Now comes the million-dollar question of whether ChatGPT or similar tools will replace existing human jobs. 

In the current form that the tools are now, it is highly unlikely for them to take over jobs that require human intelligence and expertise.

However, there are quite a few jobs that AI will automate. Jobs like data crunching and so on. But rest assured, even for something like that to happen; it will take some time. 

But yes, we can expect AI to take up some part in our daily tasks, including personal assistants to guide you based on your work schedule, recommendation systems while working on a particular tool, and much more. 

Ultimately, it is the choice you have to make whether to automate things and align with the existing job profiles or completely move over to the digital systems. We need to keep this simple thing in mind, every new technology takes away a few jobs and creates newer ones. The idea is to keep adapting and training so that the challenges that we face become our strongest points. This will give us the necessary push to face any new developments with a more strategic approach. Moreover, the fear of losing out on any kind of job with newer technological innovations will diminish if we have the right skill set and the right mind to deal with it. 

The Future of the Workplace With AI Chatbots or AI

The future looks quite different with ChatGPT and all the existing AI tools. It will streamline our tasks and make them more efficient while minimising human errors. In addition, we will be able to resolve our shortcomings with the help of these tools, but at the end of the day, the need for a human touch will remain crucial. 

The maximum we can do is align them with our daily routine and leverage it to make our lives easier. Overusing them will make us rusty and diminish our capabilities as a human. So, knowing the limits as a human is critical. 

But how will it help us in the workplace and make revolutionary changes?

Below are a few pointers to consider when integrating them into your organization. 

●As humans, we must evolve and make ourselves superior while reskilling and upskilling. We have to push the limits and train ourselves in a manner that will prepare us for future changes. The tools will help us in assisting with the upskilling programs and gives us suggestions on what skillset we need to acquire based on our capabilities. 

●Integration of HR bots that can resolve work-related queries when you ask them relevant questions. However, do keep in mind that resolving emotional queries will require the human factor which the chatbots lack. 

●Automation of our hiring processes, like screening of job applications based on the parameters set by the organisation. It will select the candidates that meet the requirements and minimize the hassle of manual work. 

●Timely notification of tax filing, taking care of monthly expenses, health reminders, and much more will ease an employee's life, and they will be able to complete the crucial task on time. 

The integration of AI chatbots solely depends on the tools' availability and the organisation's feasibility. Moreover, such changes need time which can make or break the workplace. So it is important to take the required time to make the transition and make the workforce comfortable with the technology.
