Intuit India, subsidiary of software company Intuit in USA, climbed nine places from its tenth rank in 2016 to reaching the top spot in the best places to work awards held on Friday (30 June, 2017), in a survey conducted by Great Place to Work Institute 2017.
American Express India and Google India Pvt. Ltd. were ranked second and third respectively with 11,748 and 1,863 employees.
More than 600 organisations were assessed to benchmark their workplace culture. Organisations were evaluated on 2 parameters mainly; the first measures the quality of employee experience through a globally validated survey instrument known as Trust Index to collect feedback from the employees and the second parameter evaluates the people practices of an organisation, covering the entire employee life-cycle.
The ‘Best places to work survey’ has recognised organisations having minimum employee strength of 500 and represents 20 industry sectors.
Arun Maira, former member of Planning Commission said, “The country needs a movement to make India a better place to work. Human resources are our most abundant resource. And unlike buildings and machinery, it is a resource that constantly appreciates through learning.”
Bhaskar Pramanik, former Microsoft chairman, on the issue of increasing artificial intelligence said, “The middle level jobs will be affected and performed using artificial intelligence. We will always need people for work that requires lifting and moving, and also for higher level jobs that need creativity and intuition."
Other notable companies in the best places to work survey are Marriott Hotels India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Finance Limited, Reliance Capital, and Ernst & Young India.
