Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Chief Coordinator of G-20 India Presidency on Tuesday has said that India represents the voice of global south and developing nations. The country will raise their voice when New Delhi will host the head of state of various G-20 countries next month.
While speaking at IILM University's G-20 conference, he said, "G-20 is a unique opportunity for India to showcase the country's narrative to the world. India has exhibited strong leadership during its G20 presidency by emphasising pressing issues such as climate funding and supporting women-led progress."
Shringla further stated that India's dedication to achieving sustainable development goals is evident through the successful coordination of 185 G-20 events in 56 cities across the country.
He added that this impressive endeavour highlights India's unprecedented commitment to collaborating with the global community to build an inclusive future.
On India's aim and vision for G-20, Shringla asserted that the only certainty in the world is uncertainty and India has taken the presidency of G-20 in a very difficult time.
He mentioned, "Issues like climate financing, faster implementation of SDG goals, people-oriented change for sustainable development, promotion of millets, financial inclusion and women-led development are the issues that India wants to achieve from its G-20 presidency."
