Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium has turned out to be a profitable venture for the makers. The movie raked in Rs 1.31 crore on its third Tuesday (6th June), taking the total box-office collection to Rs 56.21 crore.
Hindi Medium has turned out to be the 5th super hit movie of 2017 after Baahubali 2, Jolly LLB 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Kaabil.
The film is expected to go past Half Girlfriend’s collection of Rs 59 crore by the end of week 3.
The third week started with a collection of Rs 1.76 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 3 crore on Sunday. The film could not manage huge jump on Sunday because of the India-Pakistan cricket match.
With some great reviews by the critics and strong word of mouth by the viewers, Hindi Medium has fared well through the box-office and maintained very good numbers throughout. The film performed above par in the overseas market collecting Rs 12 crore.
Made at a budget of Rs 22 crore, the film stands at a profit of over 150%. Hindi Medium has raked in the profit of Rs 34 crore at the box-office. The movie also brought in Rs 15 crore for the satellite, music and digital rights. Hindi Medium is expected to bring in more moolah for the makers before it rests at the box-office.
Hindi Medium has been tax-free in Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
The film stars Irrfan Khan, Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, Amrita Singh and Deepak Dobriyal in the lead. Hindi Medium has been directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by T-Series banner.
