Deadpool 2 Ryan Reynolds Starrer Earns Rs 33.40 Crore; Continues To Hit The Box Office
The much-awaited superhero film, Deadpool 2, earned Rs 21 crore in the opening weekend release and continues to tickle Marvel fans. It is giving a good competition to Alia Bhatt’s Raazi, which is still doing good even after the second week of its release.
"Deadpool 2 has crossed the lifetime collection of Deadpool (Rs. 30 crore) over the weekend itself. It should eventually do more than double the previous instalment. The overall dubbed contribution is 49 per cent with Hindi contributing to 41 per cent of weekend collections," reports IANS.
Ryan Reynold’s film has made a blockbuster start at the Indian Box Office. The Indian audience is loving the David Leitch film, all thanks to the Gully Boy actor Ranveer Singh, who has lent his voice for the Hindi version. The film has proved that audiences are still not tired of watching superhero movies. For the Marvel fans, Deadpool 2 has proved to be a super entertainer.
Shalini Langer, The Indian Express film critic writes, “So Deadpool does die and big, in many, many scenes, and he does live and big, in many, many others. Reynolds shows he can be as charming doing both. And Deadpool 2 that dying and living are just stepping stones on way to that franchise heaven. Stumble away.”
The R-rated action film has been able to knock down Avengers: Infinity War from being the number one over the weekend at the box office. It has made an estimated $125 million domestically and another $176 million overseas, making a total of $301 million in this weekend. Deadpool 2 could not set a new record for the best R-rated opening and has been unable to match the $132.4 million domestic debut of its first version in February 2016, but the reverse was true overseas. It has delivered Fox the biggest international launch in the history of an R-rated film.
