Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) on Thursday (4 May) invited Indian companies and organizations to the Sarajevo Business Forum 2017, an annual forum to promote trade and tourism in the country. B&H Ambassador to India, Sabit Subasic, has high hopes from the upcoming business forum.
The Sarajevo Business Forum is one of the biggest business conferences in the central Europe and attracts business owners and investors from around the world.
Sabit Subasic said, “From a trade and tourism perspective, Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of most attractive destinations in South-Eastern Europe. We are uniquely placed to offer a peaceful, business-friendly environment to Indian businesses and exotic natural landscapes and cultural experiences to tourists from India.”
Talking to BW Businessworld, the ambassador said, “There is enough potential in the tourism sector in our country. We are getting good amount of investments from Dubai, Qatar. We are hoping to start something new with India.”
“Last year, around 1,500 Indian tourists visited Bosnia and this year we are expecting around 7,000 tourists. We expect the numbers to grow every year, added Sabit Subasic.
WildVoyager.com, an experiential travel start-up from India will be a key participant at the forum with the objective of promoting inbound tourism for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Wild Voyager will also exclusively conduct an aerial drone video shoot of the country’s most exotic tourism destinations for marketing the country among Indian and global tourists.
The travel start-up is figuring out experiential travel destinations in the remote corners of the world. When asked, Alankar Chandra, managing director, Wild Voyager, what leverage he will get out of this collaboration, Chandra replied, “We will become Bosnia’s travel consultant in India. Bosnia has good potential in the tourism market and we are targeting 100 experiential travellers for the first year to visit Bosnia.”
He added, “We are thrilled to attend the Sarajevo Business Forum 2017 and look forward to make a meaningful contribution towards promoting tourism in this beautiful country.”
The eighth International Investment Conference will be held on 22 and 23 May 2017 in Bosnia and Herzegovina to promote trade and investments in agriculture, energy, education, infrastructure, construction, tourism and other industries. The forum provides a platform to institutional and private investors from all over the world to connect with the key stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Education, hospitality, infrastructure and health are some of the key areas of focus for the country and their goal is to attract Indian industry honchos who will bring business to the country.
