Akshay Kumar & Rajinikanth Pays Highest Tax In Entertainment Industry

The Tamil Nadu government recognizes Rajinikanth as the highest tax payer in the state. Actor who last appeared in Annaatthe in 2021 was honoured by the state's income tax department. At an event on Sunday, Telangana governor Tamilsai Soundararajan presented the award to his daughter and film director Aishwarya Rajinikanth.  

Her official Instagram account showed pictures of the event and she wrote, “Proud daughter of a high and prompt taxpayer. Many thanks to the Income Tax Department of TamilNadu and Puducherry for honouring appa on  Income Tax Day 2022 on behalf of my father. 

Actor Akshay Kumar also became the highest taxpayer in the entertainment industry as well. Kumar was awarded a Samman Patra by the IT department. The award was accepted on Kumar's behalf by his team.

As per the media report, the actor, who appeared last in Yash Raj Films' Samrat Prithviraj, was one of the highest taxpayers in India over the past five years.

Currently, Thalaiva is working on the next project Jailer with the director Nelson Dilipkumar, while Akshay Kumar is currently working in the UK. He has films lined up- Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu and Selfie.
