As per a report the handheld gaming category, in particular, has evolved dramatically since the advent of devices such as the Nintendo Switch, which blurs the distinction between console and handheld gaming by providing console-quality graphics and flexible play styles. Handheld devices' success now depends on their ability to interact effectively with large software ecosystems and provide unique features that set them apart from traditional consoles and new mobile gaming platforms.
The global market for console and handheld gaming software is estimated at USD 48.2 Billion in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 64.4 Billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 4.2 per cent from 2023 to 2030.
