Race 3
IMDb rating: 2.4/10
The movie, no doubt, brought back the core story of the Race Franchise, the family thing where each one is trying to cheat and outsmart the other. But the write-up could not make out to work that well. Race has always been known for its dialogues but this time they have been literally humiliating.
The performances are not even a matter to be talked about, its only Anil Kapoor who is the redeeming factor in the film and it is only his character that is constraining and well developed in the film, being exalted like has always been for Saif in the earlier Race Sequel. The movie is a total waste of time and the music is also nasty.
The movie had made a profit just because of Salman Khan as a brand name, otherwise, Salman’s character is not even properly figured as Saif’s, unlike the previous two Race instalments.
Veere Di Wedding
IMDb rating: 2.8/10
The movie is all about the four friends in different situations who meet after many years and try helping each other with the matrimonial problems.
The character depicted by Swara Bhaskar is brash and bold, when she abuses it looks normal and goes with the flow but when it comes to the other three, it just looks awkward as if they are forced to say so but everything looks out of place, especially when it comes to Kareena Kapoor Khan who seems the most uncomfortable and this makes one think that abusing to look cool sometimes gives just an opposite effect. The plot seems to be paper thin.
Moreover, Bebo had nothing much to do, she was just adding a star value to the film as the movie has been totally a girl-gang film.
The movie managed to make a good amount of Rs 80.23 crore worldwide but was unable to meet up the expectations of its audience.
Nirdosh
IMDb rating: 4.1/10
The movie is a brain teaser where the intention of the killer is revealed at the end of the film. The writers of the movie are the people who thought of an idea of transforming a murder mystery to comedy, which makes the movie a painful watch.
The film does not make sense right from the beginning. The interrogation to the investigation and to the final revelation, everything is just senseless.
The only good part about the movie is that the audience is made to guess for some time that who actually was the victim although the murder took place right in the beginning of the movie, this is the only positive aspect of the movie. Other than this the movie is a combination of sleazy writing, poor acting, unoriginal dialogues and juvenile subplots.
The movie made an overseas gross of $90,000 and a worldwide gross of Rs 57, 15,000 only with the total net gross of Rs 77, 50,000.
Aiyaary
IMDb rating: 5.1/10
The movie could not match up to the director Pandey’s level as his previous movies like Baby and A Wednesday has worked truly well. What lacked in the movie was suspense and thrill, which are the main principles of each of the director’s films. Manoj Bajpayee plays a steadfast officer bound by duty. He is the backbone of the film. Siddharth Malhotra portrays a structured, patient behaviour to his character and is suitably convincing as a soldier
Big actors like Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah were not given much work to show up their talents. This was the reason the movie was not being appreciated much. No proper balance was maintained as the worthy cast was not appreciated in giving proper plots in the movie. The movie could not sustain itself much at the screens. It shattered in just two weeks with a total collection of just 18.22 crore and could only make $ 8.81 million as its total overseas gross collection.
Baaghi 2
IMDb rating: 5.1/10
The fight scenes of Tiger Shroff always give the touch of Bruce Lee’s on-screen moments, but it’s not always what people love to see, at times all this looks just a mere repetition and nothing more. No doubt that this is the genre of Tiger, but that cannot be the base on which a movie can survive and be solely relied upon.
Starting from Tiger’s debut movie, Heropanti to Baaghi 2, every movie has the same lame duck turning into saviour base, beating up the brutes and proving the victory of good over the evil, just relying on the actor Shroff’s forte. The audience wants to see more of him and different roles now.
Though the story seems to be totally illogical where a single guy is heading to fight with hundreds and all these guys miss each and every shot and it is only the hero is able to kill them all alone, totally impractical! But according to a report on BoxofficeIndia.com, the high octane action film has raked in Rs 243 crore in 25 days worldwide and is still continuing it’s magic. Also, the film stands on the 22nd position of the all-time highest grossing Bollywood films.
