First edition of BW-GOPIO Global Business Awards held in Bahrain
At recently held Global Business in Bahrain, which is an initiative between BW Businessworld and Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), non-resident Indian business leaders were felicitated for their contribution to trade promotion.
Some of the eminent names who attended the event included-- The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, former diplomat and Member of Parliament, Dr Shashi Tharoor, veteran technology and policy expert Dr Sam Pitroda, former BJP MP Dr Chandan Mitra, Minister of Electricity and Water Dr Abdulhussein Mirza and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Raj Purohit.
The purpose of the awards is to celebrate and commemorate the achievements of the Business Houses owned by Resident Indians, NRIs, and PIOs that promote trade between India and other countries – both Imports and Exports – thus stimulating India’s economic growth.
