Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the most anticipated Indian movie of 2017, will hit the theatres on Friday (28 April) and the pre-booking reports for the movie is massive. The Baahubali franchise has garnered a huge fan following ever since the release of its first part two years ago, and with of all the suspense and excitement generated by the first part, fans are very eager to find out ‘why Kattappa killed Baahubali’.
Baahubali: The Beginning received a great response from the audience and opened to packed audiences in 2015. Looking at the advance booking report of Baahubali 2, the movie is expected to be even bigger.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the movie stars Prabhas in the title role, along with Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah in lead roles. The film is produced by Arka Media Works. The Hindi release rights for the film has been acquired by Dharma Productions.
Advance bookings have commenced throughout the country, with some amazing response from the moviegoers. Majority of the shows are sold out and others are filling fast. The booking report from south India is massive as expected, with more than 80 per cent of the shows for the weekend being sold out. The ban on the movie in Karnataka has also been lifted.
Baahubali 2 is stated to be released in over 8,000 screens worldwide, making it the biggest Indian movie release ever. The film will open in more than 6,000 screens in India, all languages combined. The screen count for the Hindi release will be more than 3,000.
It has been a tough few weeks for Bollywood with very limited moolah coming in, but with the release of Baahubali 2, exhibitors and theatre owners will heave a sigh of relief.
The Hindi version of the movie has gained immense popularity since the release of its trailer and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is set to be the biggest Hindi release of 2017, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. The movie is expected to get an opening of Rs.25-30 crore on Friday, which is huge considering the movie will be released on a non-holiday.
Baahubali: The Beginning did a business of Rs 110 crore at the box-office despite getting a very limited release. Considering the hype for Baahubali 2, it is expected to achieve the Rs 100-crore mark in Week 1 itself.
