Zoho invests in Yali Aerospace, a drone startup based in Tanjavur. The startup, led by Dinesh Baluraj and Anugraha, has developed a fixed-wing drone with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. This drone addresses the critical need for delivering medicines and organs to remote hospitals, offering a range of up to 150 km, a payload capacity of 7 kg, and a maximum speed of 155 km/h.
Sridhar Vembu, Zoho’s CEO and Co-founder, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the importance of this technology for national development. Yali Aerospace focuses on providing drone solutions for medical, surveillance, and logistics applications.
In addition to this investment, Zoho is expanding its horizons with a proposed USD 700 million venture into chipmaking, seeking government incentives and partnerships to support this initiative. Vembu emphasised the significance of technological advancements for the nation and the supportive stance of the government.
