Yamaha Motor Company recently launched its multi-performance neo-roadster new Yamaha MT-09 in India for Rs 10, 88,122 (ex-showroom Delhi). Just days after the launch, the all-new Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 has been spotted testing in India, which means the bike might soon come to the country.
The all-new Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 has been launched in Indonesia during early 2017. Yamaha Motor Company has not revealed Indian specifications of the bike. However, to get an overview of the same, let’s see what features and specifications Yamaha is offering at YZF-R15 V3 in Indonesia.
Available in three body paint options – Racing Blue, Matte Red, and Matte Black, the new YZF-R15 is powered by 155.1cc liquid-cooled 4-Stroke, SOHC, 4 Valve, VVA engine that churns out 14.2kW of maximum output at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm.
It is available for 34500000 Indonesian Rupiahs which is equal to approx. Rs 1.64 lakh. As per various reports, it is likely that Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 in India will carry anti-lock braking system or anti-skid braking system (ABS) technology.
In India, Yamaha Motor Company currently offers the YZF-R15 V2 for Rs 118,838 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The design elements of Yamaha YZF-R15 V2 are borrowed from the super sport model YZF-R1 that is adapted from YZR-M1 MotoGP race machine.
The R15 version 2.0 has undergone changes as compared to its predecessor YZF-R15 in the specs of the Engine Control unit (ECU), drivetrain unit, a long aluminium swing arm, wider front and rear tires (radial tire for the rear), split seat, LED taillights and new-design middle cowl & tail cowl.
Yamaha YZF-R15 V2 comes equipped with 149cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve engine, which produces 17PS of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 15Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.
Overall, the bike measures 1,970mm X 670mm X 1,070mm, with 800mm of seat height, 1,345mm of wheelbase, and 160mm of minimum ground clearance.
