In a bid to strengthen its superbike segment in Indian market, India Yamaha Motor has launched its multi-performance neo-roadster new Yamaha MT-09 for Rs 10, 88,122 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha MT-09 has been introduced as Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India and will be available in three body colours – Bluish Gray Solid, Deep Purplish Blue, and Matte Dark Gray.
The new MT-09 comes equipped with 847cc 3-Cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves engine that churns out 84.6kW (115PS) of maximum output at 10,000 rpm and 87.5Nm of torque at 8,500rpm.
Overall, the bike measures 2,075 mm x 815 mm x 1,120 mm, with 820mm of seat height, 1,440mm of wheel base, and 135mm of minimum ground clearance.

MT-09’s 193kg of weight has been maintained with the help of a CF aluminium die-cast frame.
Features wise, Yamaha MT-09 has borrowed its design elements from its elder brother the MT10. Just like MT10, the newly launched bike’s twin-eye headlamp is spread across the front forks with 4 LED lamps. These are underlined by auxiliary LED strips.
Some other features are advanced rear-view with 3D appearance, swing arm-mounted rear finder, mono cross suspension with asymmetric of die-cast swing arm, and traction control system.
This is going to be Yamaha’s second motorcycle, introduced as CBU, after racer bike Yamaha YZF-R1. Let’s see how Yamaha MT-09 is different from Yamaha YZF-R1.
