IT Player Wipro on Tuesday said it was collaborating with the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and big data analytics to develop innovative technologies focused on preventing and managing long-term health disorders.
Wipro’s R&D team, part of Lab45, will spearhead the development of a personal care engine. This AI-driven platform will utilise an individual’s health history, desired health outcomes and behavioural responses to promote healthy aging and positive lifestyle changes, ultimately enhancing psycho-social wellbeing.
The said engine’s primary goal is to reduce and manage the risk of cardiovascular diseases and related neurodegenerative disorders by offering personalized interactions that optimize long-term health and wellbeing.
The efficacy of this personal care engine will be tested through a digital app-based trial, conducted in collaboration with CBR at IISc. This trial will reportedly provide valuable evidence on the engine’s effectiveness in contexts critical to long-term health outcomes, helping to shape future healthcare solutions.
Combining Wipro’s technological expertise with CBR’s advanced brain science research, this collaboration promises to unlock new possibilities for patient care, cognitive health and overall wellbeing. Both institutions aim to harness their combined research and development strengths to deliver superior health outcomes on a population scale.
In a statement, Subha Tatavarti, Chief Technology Officer, Wipro, said, “Wipro is committed to transforming the landscape of healthcare through technological innovation, and we are delighted to be partnering with the CBR and IISc on this journey. Our personal care engine enables wide-ranging applications and benefits for health management. It has the potential to mitigate lifestyle-related conditions and even enhance cognitive and psychosocial functioning.”
