West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday that schools and colleges will reopen on November 15, and she asked the chief secretary to take the necessary steps to ease the process.
Banerjee, after attending an administrative review meeting at Uttar Kanya in Siliguri, asked Chief Secretary H K Dwivedi to ensure that educational institutions are properly cleaned and sanitised before they reopen.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of last year, schools and universities in the state have been shuttered.
Earlier in August, the Chief Minister stated that educational institutions in West Bengal may return following the Durga Puja holidays, with courses beginning on alternating days.
