Cybersecurity company Arctic Wolf inaugurated its first Indian Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The new centre is currently staffed with around 35 employees and is set to expand, with plans to hire 150 in total by mid-2025.
The company, valued at USD 4.3 billion, did not disclose the specific investment amount for its new Bengaluru GCC but confirmed plans for further investment. The centre will serve as an important location for scaling and developing Arctic Wolf platform, along with its entire suite of security operations solutions.
“The investment for 150 headcount is significant, in terms of the overall percentage of our global team. It’s very strategic to us. We plan to invest more here. Those numbers, we’re still working on, for our annual operating plan for next year,” Jeff Green, senior vice president, research and development, Arctic Wolf told BW Businessworld.
Artic Wolf said Bengaluru expansion will help it benefit from around-the-clock development capabilities and closer proximity to clients in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, giving it fresh ground to grow beyond North American, European and Australian markets. The company has been growing fast in Europe and Australia in the last two years.
The cybersecurity firm serves around 3,000 clients worldwide and employs approximately 2,700 people. Since its inception, it has raised nearly USD 900 million from investors and is eyeing an IPO, depending on favourable market conditions.
Artic Wolf mentioned that the primary reason for establishing a presence in Bengaluru is to tap into the city’s rich talent pool and enhance its global R&D efforts. By mid-2025, most hires will be senior-level professionals, though some freshers will also be onboarded. The company revealed that it recently visited and recruited from 7-8 colleges.
“What’s been exciting to see happen so quickly is that we aren’t just looking for entry-level talent. We sought experts and senior leadership, and we’ve found that. The network here is incredible. We’ve attracted great talent quickly, and they’ve used their networks to help it grow. I’ve been very pleased and excited with the success we’ve had so early,” said Kristin Dean, Chief People Officer, Artic Wolf.
The Minnesota-headquartered firm also plans to launch an internship programme in January, partnering with select colleges, including PESIT and RVCE. Company executives expressed their desire to collaborate with these institutions to cultivate leadership in cybersecurity education, ultimately aiming to develop the next generation of experts in the field to address the talent gap in cybersecurity.
