Bollywood sequels are huge and the trend is just setting in and is definitely here to stay. Two of the biggest sequels of the year, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and ‘Jolly LLB 2’ have already released. The two sequels raked in better collection numbers at the box office than their prequels but there is still lot many more sequels to watch out for.
1. Fukrey 2
The prequel ‘Fukrey’ was a situational comedy that was appreciated by audiences and critics alike in 2013 and now the characters of Honey, Choocha and Bholi Punjaban will be back to wow the audiences in ‘Fukrey 2’.
2. Judwaa 2
Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan have at long last declared the arrival of a remake of 1990s blockbuster Judwaa. Varun Dhawan is said to assume Salman Khan's part in Judwaa redo and the performing artist will likewise be seen romancing Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez in the film. Directed by David Dhawan, the film will be released on 29 September, 2017.
3. ABCD 3
ABCD film trilogy is a remake of Hollywood's STEP UP franchisee. ABCD 2 raked in about Rs 106 crore at the boc office and saw Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor alongside Prabhu Deva contending with world artists which was a visual treat to all. Year 2017 will now observe ABCD 3 coordinated by Remo D'Souza.
4. 2.0
2.0 is the successor to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, Robot in English and an up and coming Indian sci-fi film composed and coordinated by S Shankar and music created by A R Rahman. The film will include Rajinikanth along with Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film will be released in three languages - Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. With a budget of Rs 400 crore (Rs 4 billion), it is the most costly Indian film made till date. The film is set to release on 18th October 2017. Recently, for the film’s promotion a huge hot air balloon was released featuring the images of Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar over the ‘Hollywood’ sign in Los Angeles.
5. Dabangg 3
Reportedly, this movie is a prequel to the first two installments in the trilogy. Salman Khan along with Sonakshi Sinha and another actress is set to hit the theaters this year so make way for Chulbul Pandey.
