UK retail banking NatWest Group is set to expand its footprint in Bengaluru by hiring around 4,000 employees over the next two years. This recruitment drive accompanies the leasing of a new office in the city’s Bagmane Constellation Business Park, a facility spanning 3,70,000 square feet over 11 floors.
The expansion will see the bank enhance its engineering and innovation hub, with seating capacity expected to triple compared to its current office and potential for further growth.
This step is part of NatWest’s broader strategy to deepen its engineering and data capabilities, focusing on hiring niche domain specialists. The company had previously announced plans to recruit 3,000 new software engineers in India by 2026. With the additional 4,000 hires, the Bengaluru office’s headcount will reach 6,000 by 2026.
Currently, NatWest Group employs approximately 17,000 people across its three centres in India, which include Gurugram and Chennai, with 2,000 employees based in Bengaluru. India is the company’s second-largest employee base outside the UK.
“Bengaluru is known for its vibrant technology sector and skilled talent pool, so this new office marks a significant chapter in our growth journey across India. Strengthening our global operations further positions us at the forefront of innovation as we continue to prioritise improving the customer and colleague experience,” said Scott Marcar, Group Chief Information Officer, NatWest Group in a statement.
