Suresh Muthuswami, Chairman of the North American region for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is stepping down from his position. This is one of the most significant executive exits for the company in recent times.
Muthuswami had been with TCS for 26 years and officially stepped down from his role on 9 August 2024, after serving a three-month notice period. He had been appointed Chairman of the North America region, overseeing the US and Canada, in March 2022. His departure comes as he seeks to explore new opportunities outside the company.
The North American market is a crucial segment for TCS, generating nearly USD 15 billion in revenue and accounting for over half of the company’s global revenue as of March 2024.
TCS confirmed Muthuswami’s resignation and extended best wishes for his future endeavours. Muthuswami’s role, which included broader responsibilities in finance, HR and legal functions, will now be overseen by Amit Bajaj, President of the North American region. Bajaj has been with TCS since August 2020 in his current capacity and will continue to lead the region’s operations and client engagements.
