Tata Technologies Limited has announced the completion of a strategic joint venture with BMW Holding B.V., Netherlands, to establish BMW TechWorks India Private Limited (BTIPL).
The new entity, incorporated on 31 July 2024, aims to bolster BMW Group's digital transformation efforts by delivering advanced automotive software and digital solutions. This collaboration points to the growing focus on integrating technology and engineering to enhance the automotive industry.
The joint venture comes after BMW's investment of Rs 1,00,000 in BTIPL, making both Tata Technologies and BMW Holding B.V. equal shareholders, with each holding a 50 per cent stake. Initially a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Technologies, BTIPL is now positioned to contribute significantly to BMW’s software-defined vehicle (SDV) initiatives, focusing on premium product engineering and business IT solutions.
BTIPL’s role will be instrumental in supporting BMW's technological evolution, aimed at improving customer experiences and driving digital innovation. With an authorised share capital of Rs 10,00,000, the joint venture will strengthen BMW Group's engineering capabilities within India.
