President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susan Wiles, a seasoned Republican strategist who managed his 2024 election campaign, as the White House Chief of Staff, marking a historic first for a woman in the role.
Trump praised Wiles' contributions, saying, “Susan was integral to achieving one of the greatest political victories in history. She is tough, smart, and universally admired.” Known for her strategic prowess, Wiles, 67, previously led campaigns for prominent Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Her appointment reflects Trump’s confidence in her ability to help drive his administration's agenda.
Wiles, 67, is the daughter of a former American football star turned broadcaster, the late Pat Summerall. She made her name running some of the most successful political campaigns, including that of the state governor Ron DeSantis, in her home state of Florida.
