Sudha Reddy, is a well-known business personality from Hyderabad. The global fashion icon, socialite, and philanthropist is hailed for the tireless work she does for the upliftment of women and children. Her work at the Sudha Reddy Foundation has made healthcare and education accessible for the underprivileged and injected a ray of hope into their lives. Her charitable endeavours have won global acclaim, and last year she empanelled into the family of Global Gifters as one of the global ambassadors of the Global Gift Foundation. She was also felicitated with the Fashion 4 Development Philanthropy Award at the 10th Annual “First Ladies Luncheon” in New York City.
Her love for fashion and philanthropy was on full display last weekend at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2023. Reddy, who was specially invited as a guest of honour, became the first public figure from Hyderabad to be invited to this prestigious event. Prior to her, the only other woman from India to be invited to the event was Priyanka Chopra Jonas who attended in 2016.
Sudha Reddy made a bold style statement with her sequinned Jenny Packham gown. She accessorised her look with iconic pieces - the Bulgari Serpenti necklace and an emerald green Hermès Birkin bag. She was spotted alongside top names of the DC social circle and discussed how India and the US can come together to combat various social issues and strengthen their economic ties.
She also attended the State of Qatar WHC soirée where she met the ambassadors of Qatar, France and Iran. She had a friendly conversation with Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamas Al-Thani, the ambassador of Qatar. The pair exchanged notes on current affairs, the Indian-Qatari economic relationship and Reddy’s recent trip to Doha.
As the director of MEIL Group, Sudha Reddy has made a place for herself in the male-dominated infrastructure and engineering industry. So, it comes as no surprise that she can command the attention of a room full of A-list celebrities, important politicians and celebrated journalists. She has time and again set higher benchmarks of success and represented India with grace on the global stage.
