Spider-Man: Homecoming that released at the Indian box office this Friday (7 July) has been doing exceptionally well. The movie has managed to rake in an estimated figure of Rs 37 crore at the Indian box office (including Thursday’s preview collection figures). Made at a budget of $175 million, Spider-Man: Homecoming has received great reviews and positive word of mouth.
While ‘Guest Iin London’ and ‘Mom’ which were the other two releases alongside Spider-Man: Homecoming only managed a combined collection of Rs 3.75 crore on its opening day (7 July), the Hollywood release managed to record a collection of about Rs 6.75 crore on the same day.
Spider-Man: Homecoming collected Rs 2 crore from Thursday’s paid previews (6 July) but the major jump that the movie’s collection figures witnessed was over the weekend.
The movie collected Rs 10 crore on Saturday (8 July) and a collection of Rs 11.50 crore on Sunday (9 July). The first weekend of this film has been the highest opening weekend for any Spider-Man movie in India. The movie collected about Rs 3.70 crore on its first Monday (10 July) while a collection of Rs 3.25 crore was recorded on Tuesday (11 July).
‘Guest Iin London’ struggles at the box office and has only collected Rs 6.35 crore till its first Tuesday (11 July) and ‘Mom’ raked in a total collection number of Rs 19.82 crore which is almost half of what Spider-Man: Homecoming managed to record at the Indian box office.
Being hailed as the best Marvel movie so far, Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to mint gold at the box office and has been released in four languages for the audiences- Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. Spider-Man: Homecoming has had the second best opening in 2017 for any Hollywood movie after Fast and Furious 8.
