A bench consisting of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli agreed to hear a plea seeking the cancellation of Class X and XII board examinations across all State Boards. Including CBSE, ICSE and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
The petition was filed by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, a child rights activist, urging schools planning to conduct an offline version of the board exams to find an alternate assessment method.
Lawyers have argued against the physical moderation of the exam with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
CBSE has decided to conduct board exams for Class X and XII students beginning on April 26.
