Year 2017 one of the most awaited automobile launches - Renault Captur, has been officially introduced on Monday (6 November) in India and looking at the kind of competition from the SUV segment, the automaker has gone for an aggressive pricing for the vehicle at Rs 9.99 lakh.
Just one day before on 5 November, Ford India commenced exclusive online bookings for all-new Ford EcoSport 2017 on Amazon and the offer was available for 24 hours. The company said 123 units of the new EcoSport have been booked by consumers.
As, both the SUVs will compete with each other in the market, we suggest you should wait for the New Ford EcoSport to come before rushing to the showrooms to buy Renault Captur.

Renault Captur has been priced within a range of Rs 9.99 lakh - Rs 13.88 lakh, and the upcoming all new Ford EcoSport is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 7 lakh - Rs 11 lakh. This means EcoSport will most likely to be launched at a lower price tag than Captur.
When it comes to feature wise, both the SUVs will have more or less same specifications.
Engine Specifications
Renault Captur will be available with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. For the petrol option, it will be powered by the 16 valves 4 cylinder 1.5L H4K petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, producing 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The diesel version will be powered by the 1.5L K9K diesel engine (common rail injection), mated to 6 speed manual gearbox, delivering a maximum power of 110 PS at 3,850 rpm and peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm.
The all-new Ford EcoSport will be equipped with an all-new 1.5L, 3-cylinder petrol Ti-VCT engine which will deliver power at 123 PS and torque at 150 Nm. This will be offered apart from the already existing 1.5L diesel engine.
Dimensions
Renault Captur measures 4,329mm X 1,813mm X 1,619mm with 2,673mm of wheelbase and 210mm of ground clearance.
On the other hand, EcoSport 2017 will measure 3,998mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,655mm in height. It is going to have a wheelbase of 2,520mm and 200mm of ground clearance.
Features
Renault Captur comes loaded with over 50 premium features - projector headlamps, C-shaped Sapphire LED DRLs, fully automatic temperature control with rear cooling vents, integrated audio system with USB & Aux-in and Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, push- button start with remote central locking, dual airbags, Anti-lock-Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) & Brake Assist and rear defogger with wiper.
The New EcoSport will feature power fold mirrors with puddle lamps, smart entry with capacitive touch, new front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new fog lamps, and new 17 inch alloy wheel.
New interior features will include 8 inch touchscreen with SYNC 3, smart key with push button start, 6 speed automatic transmission, cruise control with speed limiter, paddle shift, new bucket seats, and front centre armrest.
Safety
Renault Captur is equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer, 2 lateral ISOFIX – child seat anchor, height adjustable seatbelts and speed sensing auto door lock.
From safety perspective, New EcoSport will offer auto-dimming mirrors, hill launch assist, electric stability control, and six airbags.
Additionally, Renault will offer side airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, LED front fog lamps with cornering function, auto head lamps and rain sensing wipers.
