Reliance Industries (RIL) on Thursday announced a big development in the company's artificial intelligence (AI) plans with the introduction of "Jio Brain," a suite of AI tools and platforms aimed at transforming its operations and those of its subsidiaries.
Speaking at the company’s 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Chairman Mukesh Ambani detailed the scope of Jio Brain, which is designed to cover the entire AI lifecycle, from development to deployment.
Jio Brain is expected to be a cornerstone of Reliance's efforts to accelerate AI adoption within the company. According to Ambani, the platform will enable faster decision-making, enhance predictive capabilities, and provide deeper insights into customer behavior. By integrating AI across Jio’s operations, Reliance aims to create a more responsive and intelligent service ecosystem, positioning itself at the forefront of the AI revolution in India.
Central to this step is the establishment of gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar, Gujarat, powered by green energy. These facilities will support the growing demand for AI services, with multiple AI inference centers planned across Reliance’s captive locations nationwide.
Ambani said that Jio Brain is not just an internal tool but is expected to evolve into a powerful AI service platform that can be offered to other enterprises, thereby expanding its impact across industries.
Reliance also aims to set a global benchmark by achieving the world’s lowest AI inferencing cost, making AI applications more affordable and accessible. Ambani stressed the company’s commitment to democratising AI through partnerships with leading global firms, ensuring that advanced AI tools and services are within reach for a wider audience.
In addition to Jio Brain, Ambani introduced Jio AI-Cloud, a new cloud service offering that will provide up to 100GB of free storage for Jio users starting this Diwali. This initiative is part of Reliance’s broader digital strategy, which includes advancements in areas such as 6G, 5G, large language models, and IoT technologies. With Jio Brain and Jio AI-Cloud, Reliance is not only transforming its operations but also positioning itself as a leader in the global AI and digital technology landscape.
