Sportswear brand PUMA India has entered into a strategic collaboration with global consulting firm Accenture to overhaul its supply chain and distribution network, leveraging cutting-edge digital twin technology.
The initiative will reportedly look to enhance fulfillment speed and reduce operational costs, as Puma looks to meet the growing demands of India’s competitive digital commerce market.
Under the partnership, Accenture’s analytics-driven solution will redesign Puma India’s supply chain, optimsing the brand’s large hubs and regional warehouses across the country. By improving the layout of fulfillment centres, streamlining material flow, and accelerating dispatch times, the partnership will look to ensure faster deliveries and reduced shipping costs. This transformation is expected to increase order delivery speeds by up to 70 per cent and decrease supply chain expenses by as much as 10 per cent.
The collaboration will impact both Puma India’s ecommerce and offline channels, with a particular focus on expanding the company’s express-delivery capabilities. Puma said it aims to double its capacity for quick online order deliveries, addressing the growing expectation for fast, reliable service among consumers.
In a statement, Saurabh Kumar Sahu, who leads Accenture’s India business, said, “Consumers have an array of choices in products, channels, prices, and delivery options. In addition to improving operational efficiency, the partnership aligns with Puma India’s sustainability goals. By streamlining supply chain processes, Puma will look to reduce its carbon footprint, bringing it closer to both its customers and suppliers. Accenture has also worked with third-party logistics partners to integrate sustainable infrastructure into Puma’s fulfillment centers, including solar power installations, reusable assets, and electric vehicle charging stations.
