Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday 12th of May had declared to support the looming Indian economy with the massive Rs 20 lakh crore financial support package. Apart from focusing on the domestic system, PMs announcement was very much promising for India's farming community. Finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman shared the first part of road map of division for the financial package announced by PM on May 13.
Finance minister called the current releif package as result of consultation with all stakeholders of the society. PM-KISAN, PM Crop insurance ( PM Fasal Bima Yojana ) scheme along with reformative step in allied activities like fisheries and micro irrigation has been recalled as game changer steps taken earlier by the government. These steps along with DBT (direct benifit transfer) has been game changer during current situation of lockdown, said FM.
A massive, Rs 18000 crore worth of grains and essential food items were supplied to ration card holders and also to those who were in need and did not possess ration card during lockdown. For an instance a 71738 metric tons of pulses were distributed among citizens during this lockdown period. All of this data has been shared by FM during her first day of presenting the roadmap for economic relief package of India. FM will continue to bring the roadmap for other sectors in the coming days and farming community of India is looking forward to seeing another ray of hope.
