Vaibhav Dange, Independent Expert on Infrastructure & Governance said that Government is characterised by a persistent scepticism on both the part of the public and those who work there that nothing will ever change. However, we reasoned that the same group of individuals in administration could be able to take action to improve society.
While speaking at IBLF 2022 Vaibhav said "Our attempts to modify the delivery system in India and in order to get our legislators, bureaucrats, and engineers to start thinking that there are many things that can be improved, the book Building Bridges: Shaping The Future' is all about documenting those experiences and journeys."
"We previously lacked a database that could estimate the number of bridges along our national highway. In order to strengthen our delivery system, the first thing we did was to create a thorough database on our national highway," he added.
Dange further said that they merged numerous components to create an Indian Bridge Management System and this was the first online database system ever created. Finding the best way to use this knowledge to operate bridges more skillfully was the key objective.
