A day after the former governor of Bihar became India's new president, another top Bihar leader has left his top job. This time it is the Chief Minister Of Bihar, Nitish Kumar. The CM, speculated to have grown closer to the BJP again, resigned on 26th July 2017. Nitish Kumar met new Bihar governor, Keshari Nath Tripathi to deliver his resignation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted from his personal account in the evening in support of Nitish Kumar. Translation of his tweet in hindi to english is as follows- "Congratulations to Nitish Kumar for having joined the fight against corruption. 125 crore Indians welcome and support his decision"
Indirectly citing corruption cases against Tejashwi and Lalu as the cause for his exit, Mr. Kumar pointed out that it was impossible to work. He added, "My conscience told me to quit".
The decision came in after Nitish Kumar met JDU MLAs and law makers and told them that after returning from the governor's residence, he will inform of what lies ahead.
What was ahead was in fact his resignation as the CM of Bihar.
