Nirmala Sitharaman has been retained as the finance minister for the next five years. Sitharaman took over the finance portfolio in 2019 following Arun Jaitley's illness. She was the first full-time woman Finance Minister of the country in 2019.
She has also held the positions of Defence Minister and Industry and Commerce Minister. On Sunday, she became the first woman to be sworn in as a minister for the third consecutive term under the Modi government.
