Swedish automaker has launched its globally successful SUV the all-new Volvo XC60 in India on Tuesday (12 December) for Rs 55,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Volvo XC60 has industry leading safety, great use of available space, scalable product architecture, all-new suspension and chassis, and right proportions.
It comes equipped with sub 2L diesel engine, which produces maximum output of 173kW/235HP and peak torque of 480Nm at 2,700-3,700rpm. The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD (All-Wheel Drive).
Speaking at the launch, Sudeep Narayan, PR & Digital Director, Volvo Auto India, said "60 series cars stand for dynamism. The new Volvo XC60 has been made 11mm wider, 44mm longer, and 14mm shorter."
For convenience, Volvo Auto India has equipped new XC60's front seat's with ventilation and massage, and electrically operated cushion extensions, and also features panaromic sunroof, heads-up display, air suspensions on all four wheels, and LED illumination with active high beam.
It is available in four exterior colour options - pine grey, crystal white pearl, black max, and havana brown, and three interior paint options - blond, amber, and maroon brown.
From infotainment perspective, the SUV has Apple CarPlay, Android auto, smartphone integration, sensus touch, bowers and wilkins sound system (15 speakers), entertainment APPS, and sensus navigation.
New XC60 has five drive modes - eco, comfort, off-road, dynamic, and individual.
Its safety features include - steer assist feature, oncoming lane mitigation, blind-spot with steering connection, pedestrian and cyclist protection with cross traffic alerts, roll-over protection, adaptive cruise control, and 360 degree camera giving bird's eye view.
Present at the launch, Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India, said "Volvo has sold 2,000 cars in India in 2017, and it is on track to post 25 per cent growth in the year." He also said that from now onwards, within six months of Volvo's products getting launched in Europe, we will bring the same in India too.
From 2019 on wards, all cars coming out of Volvo stable is going to be electric. This announcement will have impacts on global scenario as well as in India too, added Frump.
