Data infrastructure company NetApp has promoted Vasanthi Ramesh to Managing Director of NetApp India, a significant expansion in her role within the company.
Alongside her existing position as Vice President of Engineering for the Unified Manageability Framework, Ramesh will now take on a broader mandate, overseeing NetApp's strategic initiatives in India to drive growth, innovation, and market presence.
With nearly three decades of experience in enterprise software and consumer technology, Ramesh has been a key figure in advancing NetApp’s manageability and data protection solutions across traditional data centres and cloud environments.
Her leadership has helped strengthen NetApp’s portfolio of services tailored to customers’ evolving data management needs. As Managing Director, she will lead site operations for NetApp India, with a focus on initiatives such as the NetApp Excellerator and Academia Connect, which aim to accelerate local innovation and nurture tech talent in India. Additionally, Ramesh will work to enhance the company’s involvement with Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and industry bodies like Nasscom, aiming to further NetApp’s influence within India's rapidly evolving tech ecosystem.

Ramesh brings a strong academic background to her leadership, holding a dual master’s degree in statistics from the University of Hyderabad and in computer science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the United States.
