Netaji's Life Needs More Research, Says Subhash Sarkar, MoS Education
On Thursday, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Minister for State for Education National Research inaugurated Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal’s Paper Writing competition at the Convention Centre in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Sarkar was adjoined by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Organising Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi, and Professor Shantishree Pandit, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
After the lighting of the lamp and welcoming speech, the poster for the competition was unveiled and launched on the official website of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal as well. Chief Guest for the programme, Dr Sarkar said, "Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s life needs more research and many new aspects of his life and vision could be unraveled through it."
“Netaji’s life is an inspiration for our life, society, and country, especially for the youth of the nation. Netaji’s India was devoid of any kind of discrimination based on caste, creed, gender, or region. He believed that education is necessary for holistic development and emphasised two vital aspects i.e. human development and character building,” Sarkar added.
He also elaborated on the governmental efforts in reviving the memory of Netaji in the last eight years.
Professor Shantishree Pandit paid homage to India’s Prime Minister Subhash Bose who established the provisional government in Singapore. "There is no greater revolutionary than Bose. JNU is as nationalistic University as any other university in the country. Two of the JNU students namely Nirmala Sitaraman and Dr S Jaishankar are part of this government’s cabinet and even seventy percent of India’s bureaucracy is from JNU," Pandit added.
Dr Sachchidanand Joshi, President, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal said, “Indian history has done most injustice to Netaji. Reading the autobiography of Netaji will give the youth a new vision to look at India. Students should participate in the competition and submit research papers, not just for the sake of improving their Academic Performance Index (API) scores but to enhance their API scores for life and country. I believe that researching the theme will help you to contribute and envision an India that aims to become a vishwaguru by 2047- the 100th year of India’s independence or Swarnajayanti.
Professor Ravi Prakash Tekchandani, President (Delhi Chapter), Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal gave the vote of thanks for the event.
