HTC has not been having a good turnaround since the past two years but that hasn’t stopped the Taiwanese smartphone maker to go ahead and launch new smartphones. At the ongoing MWC (Mobile World Congress) event in Barcelona, the company announced three new smartphones under its Desire series which include the Desire 530, Desire 630, and Desire 825. Since HTC has a knack for making good looking smartphones, the new series get colourful rear panels with unique 'micro splash' paint speckles which give them a distinct look.
The HTC Desire 530 which is the cheapest of the lot, features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16GB of storage which will be expandable via a microSD card. At the back there is an 8MP camera alongside a 5MP front camera and a 2200mAH battery will juice the smartphone.
The Desire 630 which will be priced slightly higher than the 530 will also feature a 5-inch HD display but will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of story and dual-SIM card slots. model only. The camera combo will include a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front and HTC has confirmed the speakers will be backed up by the company’s well known BoomSound technology.
The Desire 825 is the elder brother and comes with same hardware as the Desire 630 but will has a larger 5.5-inch HD display as well as a 2700mAh battery.
Apart from the Desire series HTC also announced the HTC One X9 which is yet again a new handset under the premium ‘One’ series. This handset was recently announced for the Chinese market and features a similar design pattern as the HTC One A9. The handset features a 5.5-inch full HD display with Gorilla glass protection. On the inside there is an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor along with 3GB of RAM. The handset will come with 32GB of inbuilt storage and which will be expandable via a microSD card to up to 2TB. The One X9 will also include a 13MP rear camera and a front-facing 5MP fixed-focus camera.
The official pricing or release dates for the Indian market has not been revealed but expect them to arrive soon.
