<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><root available-locales="en_US," default-locale="en_US"><static-content language-id="en_US"><![CDATA[Sanjay Jha, India-born chief executive of mobile phone maker Motorola, has emerged the highest paid CEO in the US, taking home a total of $104.5 million in 2008.
Jha, along with Citigroup chief Vikram Pandit, have been named in the American business publication Fortune's list of '10 Biggest CEO Paychecks'.
With a payout of $38.2 million last year, India-born Pandit is at the fifth spot in the list.
Both are ahead of media baron and chief executive of News Corp Rupert Murdoch, who received a total pay of $30.1 million. He is at the eighth spot in the list.
Oracle chief executive Larry Ellison is at the third place, followed by Walt Disney's Robert Iger and American Express' Kenneth Chenault, at the third and fourth positions, respectively.
Ellison was paid $ 84.6 million in 2008 while Iger got a compensation of $28.5 million. Last year, Chenault received a payout of $ 42.8 million.
The list has been prepared on the basis of data on public companies in America provided by executive compensation research firm Equilar Inc. The total compensation includes salary, bonuses, perks and stock grants and stock options.
At the sixth spot is Hewlett-Packard's Mark Hurd with a payout of $34 million.
