Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) is promoted by a group of professionals in association with the parent organisation, Zawawi Powertech Engineering, a renowned multinational that operates from the Sultanate of Oman with more than 3,500 employees.
Powertech Engineering was founded in 2006 and later renamed Zawawi Powertech Engineering in 2016 to support the development of Oman’s Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution system. The present turnover of ZPTE exceeds $250 million with capabilities of executing various EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) projects and service contracts to the tune of a single project worth $100 million in Oman and other parts of the Middle East.
Zawawi Powertech Engineering is registered with major clients in Oman such as the Ministry of Oil and Gas, under which PDO, OXY, OGC, BP Khazzan, ORPIC, Oman LNG and electrical distribution companies such as MJEC, MZEC, RAECO, OETC, etc., to execute and complete EPC projects for various disciplines like civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
Under the auspices of ZPTE, VIMS, run by Coimbatore Education Foundation, is a standalone B-school approved by AICTE, New Delhi and permanently affiliated to Anna University Chennai, with an avowed goal of achieving human excellence by means of academic and allied programmes.
B-SCHOOL TO WATCH OUT FOR: VIMS is ranked in the Top 20 Emerging B-schools in India (by HER) and Top 100 B-schools in India (by Businessworld. The B-school prepares the students to meet the industry expectations through its MBA programme. Methodologies in teaching adopted at VIMS are devised to provide a holistic education in the field of management.
