MediaTek has officially released the Helio G100, a 4G System-on-Chip (SoC), a major increase from the Helio G99, which was introduced in 2022. The new SoC, which is based on TSMC's 6nm technology, includes a combination of ARM Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 CPU cores, as well as an updated GPU, resulting in better performance and camera capabilities.
The Helio G100 continues to use TSMC's 6nm (N6) manufacturing process, which offers efficient power consumption while increasing processing capacity. It has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz. The SoC includes an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which is designed to perform high-end gaming and graphically heavy workloads with ease.
The SoC supports 120Hz screens with up to Full HD+ resolution, meeting the growing need for smoother visuals in mobile gaming and multimedia consumption. It also enables cameras with resolutions of up to 200MP, a significant increase above the 108MP limit of its predecessor, the Helio G99.
The Helio G100 keeps the Cat-13 4G LTE modem, which offers seamless connectivity and includes dual 4G SIM, VoLTE and ViLTE services. It also includes modern connectivity features including integrated Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, which ensure dependable and fast wireless communication.
The Helio G100 will make its debut in the TECNO CAMON 30S Pro, with availability expected soon. MediaTek's new SoC is also expected to power forthcoming smartphones from brands such as Infinix, which are set to arrive later this year. This establishes the Helio G100 as a prominent participant in the mid-range smartphone industry.
With support for 4X4 MIMO, 2CC CA and 256QAM for faster data speeds and connectivity. The SoC also supports a variety of worldwide navigation systems, including as GPS, Galileo, BeiDou and NAVIC, making it an adaptable option for global markets.
