MCX Gets New Chief: Sebi Approves Praveena Rai As MD & CEO
Rai is a seasoned professional in the banking sector, with over 25 years of experience
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has approved the appointment of Praveena Rai as the Managing Director and CEO of MCX, according to a regulatory filing by the exchange on Thursday.
However, Rai's appointment is contingent upon her acceptance of the position and approval by MCX's shareholders.
Rai is a seasoned professional in the banking sector, with over 25 years of experience. Her expertise spans transaction banking, retail banking, cards, and wholesale and commercial banking. She also worked at National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) as a chief operating officer.
Throughout her career, she has worked with major financial institutions, including Kotak Mahindra Bank, HSBC, and Citibank.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication and has a post-graduate degree from IIM Ahmedabad.
