While Bihar has failed to be in the list of Smart Cities this time, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Babul Supriyo defends the Modi government against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s allegation of discrimination. Claiming that the government is presently focused on states like U.P., West Bengal and Delhi, Supriyo however said that there is enough scope for Bihar to grow. Speaking with Chahat Jain of BW Businessworld at the One Globe 2016 conference, Supriyo however lashed out at the Modi government saying that Housing for All is an ambitious project and poses a huge challenge for the government to meet the targets by 2022.
Talking about the upcoming Bengal elections, he said that it’s high time the Mamata Banerjee government should start working in sync with the central government for the development of Bengal.
