L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has entered into a strategic partnership with FORVIA, the 7th largest global automotive supplier. The collaboration is valued at approximately EUR 45 million.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, around 300 engineers from FORVIA’s facilities in Augsburg, Germany, and Bangalore, India, will join LTTS. This move, which boasts a 95 per cent success rate in the transfer of these skilled professionals, will look to support LTTS’s capabilities in developing technologies for internal combustion engines within their framework. According to the company, this strategic staffing approach not only secures the expertise and continuity of the existing teams but also ensures that these engineers will continue their work from their current locations, facilitating seamless collaboration.
The partnership builds on a shared commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the need for ultra-low emissions in the automotive sector. The transferred engineers will integrate into the company’s operations, continuing their contributions towards FORVIA’s digital Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives. This integration promises to maintain high standards of engineering support while providing stable employment opportunities for the involved engineers.
Moreover, the agreement includes a proactive component for career development, giving LTTS the responsibility to train and potentially reposition these engineers within its global commercial network over time. The training and reskilling efforts will be supported by the LTTS Global Engineering Academy, enhancing the professional growth of the transferred employees and preparing them for future challenges in new technological domains.
This partnership is not just looking to enhance the engineering solutions provided to end customers but also enriches the talent pool with extensive exposure to LTTS’s diverse project portfolio.
“Our collaboration with FORVIA underscores our proficiency in the transportation and automotive industry, while simultaneously reinforcing our dedication to spearheading progress in the field of traditional engine technologies and new-age digital transformation for ultra-low emissions and clean mobility,” Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of L&T Technology Services said in a statement.
