LG Unveils XBoom Series Speakers In India: Price, Specs, First Impressions
LG introduces three new speakers for three different use cases; priced at Rs 4,990, Rs 12,990 and Rs 64,900, respectively
LG Electronics unveils new additions to its audio line-up, the LG XBoom series, comprising the XG2T, XL9T, and XO2T models. This new collection aims to elevate the audio experiences with better sound quality, enhanced portability, and lighting features, catering to both indoor and outdoor settings for audio enthusiasts.
With the XBOOM series, LG Electronics continues to push for audio innovation, offering products that blend powerful sound, stylish design and portability to suit a range of music experiences. Each model is packed with capabilities, from dynamic sound output and immersive lighting to durability, making the XBOOM series a choice for all occasions—whether it’s a family gathering, outdoor adventure, or an evening at home.
The tiny XG2T is priced at Rs 4,990, the slightly larger XO2T is priced at Rs 12,990 and the XL9T party speaker is priced at Rs 64,900.
“With the launch of our new XBOOM series, LG is bringing audio products that merge convenience with technology,” said Brian Jung, Director, Home Entertainment LG Electronics India. “These models are crafted to improve the way our customers experience sound, adapting to every environment with powerful audio, lighting features, and durability," he added.
The LG XBoom XL9T is a party speaker with a 1000W output delivered through dual 8-inch woofers and 3-inch tweeters. Equipped with an algorithm, the XL9T delivers a deep sound. It also features a Pixel or dot matrix LED along with woofer lighting. One can customise/create new Text, Characters or Emoji’s which creates adds to the entertainment value. The speaker is IPX4 water-resistant.
The LG XBoom Go XG2T is designed for portability without compromising on sound quality. This compact 5W portable speaker is equipped with a 1.5-inch woofer and passive radiator, enhanced by a bass algorithm that produces dynamic, high-pressure sound for its size. This speaker is built to withstand tough conditions with an IP67 rating and US Military Standard durability. The XG2T offers up to ten hours of music playback. It also comes with a customizable string that allows easy attachment to backpacks, bicycles and tents, making it fit for travel.
The LG XBoom XO2T combines style and functionality with its 360-degree omnidirectional 20W sound, offering good bass and clear audio. It integrates mood-enhancing lighting with a frosted glass effect that diffuses soft, candle-like light, creating a calm and elegant ambience in any setting. The XO2T is IP55 water resistant and offers over fifteen hours of battery life. Featuring Bluetooth v5.3, LG One Touch mode and multi-point sharing, it works very seamlessly. These speakers have Synergy with LG TVs as well.
First Impressions
The LG XBoom XL9T looks massive and has a dominating presence. The speaker has a 1000W output which seems apt given the purpose of this device. the dot matrix LED on the top is a neat addition. The sound quality is, as expected loud, clear and thumpy with ample bass. It is priced at almost half of what the Sony ULT Tower 10 is selling for which makes it a very lucrative choice when buying large 1000W speakers for entertainment purposes.
The XO2T is a classy-looking speaker that doesn't really look like a speaker at all. The most impressive thing about this device, apart from the sound quality it delivers, is mood lighting. You can opt for a warmer tone or a bright white tone as per your liking. It's like sitting in a fine diner with its one. It is extremely compact and much lighter than I had expected, might I add.
Finally, the Go XG2T is a speaker that looked familiar at first. It is so small that it fits on my palm. What struck the eye about this device is how small it is and how rugged it looks. It comes with a nylon strap that LG co-developed with Hyundai. The speaker is very versatile as it can basically be strapped around any place that has a curvature suitable for the strap to wrap around. This means a bicycle handle, a tent, a pillar and even a wall. Lastly, it is tough as nails. We got a live demonstration of an SUV running over it and the speaker basically came out of it without a scratch working just fine.
